KIDS KARTING FOR A FIVER RETURNSBy Redcar Speedway ~ Thursday 17th December 2009So successful were this summer school holiday and autumn half-term 'Karting for a Fiver' campaigns at the Teesside Autodrome off South Bank Road in Middlesbrough that the promotion is to be repeated at the circuit on Wednesday December 23rd and Wednesday December 30th between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
For the fee children under 16 will receive a briefing from the Karting centre's instructors, full kit and then at least five laps of track time on the UK's largest karting track. Parking and refreshment facilities are available on site. Further sessions can be booked at a discount.
The national campaign to promote the sport among youngsters was launched earlier this year by former British Cadet Karting Champion Lewis Hamilton MBE whose love of karting propelled him into Formula One and the World Championship title. The regional campaign was fronted by the former World Speedway Champion Gary Havelock who is captain of the Redcar Bears based adjacent to the karting arena.
