Act I – The Bee Gees Dig out those flares and prepare to strut your stuff in the first half of this stunning show as the cast recreate to perfection the extensive Gibb Brother's repertoire live on stage at The Oak Tree Arena, Highbridge, Somerset.
With an on-stage ensemble that is fronted by the stunningly convincing vocals of real life Brothers and Jive Talkin' front men, Darren and Gary Simmons as Barry and Robin Gibb, as well as Jarrod Loughlin as Maurice Gibb, these three leading men collectively have career highs including performing live with the Bee Gees themselves and treading the boards on London's West End. Backed by an incredible backing band, never before has there been a more complete and authentic Bee Gees experience.
Get ready to sing and dance to such disco classics as Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, More Than a Woman and Tragedy as well as the older hits such as Massachusetts and Words as the cast perform as the Bee Gees - Live In Concert in Act 1 of this sensation show.
In 2007 the cast launched their Bee Gees only and it was met with critical acclaim. Vegas Billionaire, avid Bee Gees fan and very close friend of Barry Gibb, Steve Wynn, chartered a private jet and flew into Leeds to watch them perform their world famous tribute.
The leading men are veterans of the Bee Gees music having performed it for 20 years in many prestigious venues including Cardiff’s International Indoor Arena, Dubai’s International Tennis Stadium and at the Lord Tavernier’s Ball where they performed in front of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent.
“It seems a very long time ago since we first performed on ITV's Stars in their Eyes' as the Bee Gees way back in the very first series of the hit TV show”, says Darren Simmons who plays the part of Barry Gibb.
Act II - ABBA The second half of this brand new show boasts a 10 piece ensemble, including a live string section and some of the country's most talented young musicians, as the audience are hit with a non-stop barrage of adrenaline filled hits made famous by ABBA themselves and the cultural phenomenon that is Mamma Mia – The Movie.
With the release of Mamma Mia ABBA’s music has yet again be opened up to new generations of young eager fans ready to dance and sing all night long to the likes of Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Take a Chance, Fernando and many more. To provide that evening of ABBA bliss we present to you the cast of The Winner Takes It All and their unmissable tribute to ABBA – Live In Concert.
Fronting the ABBA show are real life siblings Charlie and Sarah Dean in the roles of Agnetha and Frida respectively and they draw on all their advantages as sisters to create that special harmony blend that has become ABBA's unique sound. When combined with the singing ability of their on stage male counterparts, Bjorn and Benny, the accuracy of this tribute puts itself head and shoulders about the rest.
Sarah and Charlotte Dean have been seen on TV most recently on GMTV's search for a family star where they made performed the televised finals. “There is nothing quite like the feeling of being on stage and having a capacity crowd dancing and singing along with you at the tops of their voices”, says older sister Charlotte.
Regardless of whether you are young or old you will not be able to resist being swept up in a party atmosphere as one of the UK hottest new productions delivers a powerhouse performance filled with some of history's most iconic songs.
Director of OTA Promotions, Mark Saunders, had this to say about the staging of what promises to be an unforgettable two night’s worth of entertainment; “We are pleased that the magistrates supported our appeal on Monday for a licence for our event at The Oak Tree Arena on 28th & 29th of August 2010 after Sedgemoor District Council originally objected to the their granting of a licence for us to stage the event. We would also like to thank Sedgemoor District Council for removing their objection to the proposed event.” “We have worked hard over the last few weeks with environmental officers from Sedgemoor, reassuring them of our intentions that this event will strike a reasonable balance between protecting the public interest from unreasonable noise or excessive noise, whilst at the same time support a requirement to provide, quality, affordable, entertainment, for both local residents, and the local tourist industry.”
