CUDA'S ARE UNDERDOGS FOR EXCITING LOCAL DERBY By King's Lynn Speedway ~ Wednesday 5th August 2009 This Friday night at the 7:30pm the King’s Lynn ‘Art and Stitch’ Barracudas face one of their toughest matches of the 2009 season when the Mildnehall Fen Tigers come to the Norfolk Arena in search of National League points and revenge for their early season exit from the KO Cup.
Since their victory in the KO Cup the Barracudas have lost Jamie Smith and in his place they decided to breed a new rider, Chris Widman. This means that the Cudas have 4 riders with less than 70 matches of experience between them while the Fen Tigers have 3 riders with over 600 matches of experience between them! ‘Underdogs is an understatement, the Fen Tigers have strengthened up and now resemble something of a Premier League team if anything, but even though most of our riders lack experience they will make up for it in grit and determination. No doubt Mildenhall will see a chance of gaining revenge for earlier in the seasonand they may get it but as long as we give 110% I will never be disappointed’ said Dale Allitt, the King’s Lynn team manager.
Scott Campos, Jake Knight, Chris Widman and Rhys Naylor are all in their first season of professional speedway while Adam Lowe has spent the season in the top five of the team for the first time ever. Leading the Cudas is the experienced duo of Darren Mallet and Adam Allott ‘I will do whatever it takes to help the younger riders, they have done an incredible job so far and I know that winning this meeting would mean so much to us all’ said Allott.
The Tigers are lead by the experienced trio of Barrie Evans, Jamie Birkenshaw and Luke Priest while they have Dean Felton, Olly Rayson as second strings and Joe Jacobs along with Nick Laurence at reserve.
Admission Prices Adults £10, Concessions (Disabled, Senior Citizens, Students, 16 & 17 year olds) £7, Juniors (12-15yrs) £3, Kids 11 yrs and Under Free. SPECIAL OFFER - Exchange the Stars admission ticket from Wednesday 5th August for a free Race-Zine worth £1.
